Biography
Keith Engle, aka The Sasanach, bought an inexpensive fiddle on a whim one evening, and started taking violin lessons... and completely failed to catch the classical music bug. But soon afterwards he attended a Celtic festival where he got his first real exposure to live Irish music, and discovered something he had been searching for his whole life without even knowing it. He immediately set about finding a fiddle teacher, and over a decade later is still playing, learning, and growing.
In 2012, he chose to focus exclusively on the style of Irish music unique to the Sliabh Luachra region, and frequently travels to Ireland to learn and perform.
Keith lives, works, and teaches in the York, PA area. From this home base he travels to play at festivals, concerts, and other events throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region.
Keith recorded his first CD, Tip the Fiddler, in 2010, and in 2015 released its follow-up, The Fiddle of Mischief.
